Dumb question but can a Manners stock that has been inletted for a Surgeon be modified with some tlc and a mill to fit a Rem SA?

The only part that will need some work is the bolt handle cutout, so yes it can.

Is it major work that can be blended in if the stock is already molded in color or should I just hold off for a 700 inlet. I found one in the Hide acc. forum that interests me greatly.

you could just send it to MCM and they will do it for you and they will also patch up the gelcoat. They should have it done for you in 2 weeks time (maybe less, call and ask)
