I just got a A5 inleted for a Templar action thinking it would work with surgeon 591. Went to throw my remmy 700 action in it for now to find out the lug recess is to far forward to work with it. Now it's my understanding that any stock inleted for a 700 will work with a surgeon, save for the bolt release. Now I'm worried my stock won't work with my Surgeon build. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether or not a stock enleted for a second gen Templar will work with a sugeon?
Thanks, Tony

Re: Surgeon/ Templar footprint?

yes but you will have to inlet a pocket for the lug .250" behind the lug cut that is already in it, It wont be ideal the port cut is different and the bolt stop and bolt handle cut are different as well. the action size and hole spacing is the same.
