surplus ammo?

Re: surplus ammo?

Not through a DPMS specifically, but I haven't had any issues with late 70's - early 80's Paki 147gr surplus (POF headstamp) through the MWS or HK91.

It has an odd odor, and might be a tad underpowered, but even with that, it's never failed to feed, extract, go bang, etc.

What level are you shooting for? What level can you shoot? Ammo that will hold sub MOA in the hands of a 3 MOA shooter......get my point? An before everyone gets hurt I am not saying you are a 3 MOA shooter.

Re: surplus ammo?

The South African works very well in FAL's, M1A's, and just shot some the other day in an LWRC Repr, and it shot very well, just over 1-moa. Recoil was mild, if not weak since we had some failures shooting suppressed, but once we moved the gas plug to suppressed, the rifle ran 100%.

FYI, the bullet jackets are a lttle soft, and noticed it caused more copper fouling then normal in the M1A. Also it's Berdan primed so you can't reload those cases.

I haven't tried it for precision groups, and I wouldn't expect it to perform as such, but it's been on par with what one would expect with most surplus, 2-4 MOA
