Movie Theater Surviving the Cut: Marine Scout Sniper School

[5RWill]

I'm a big fan of the "Surviving the Cut" series and i saw this one and started to watch it, it's pretty good so i figured i'd post it. Shows much more shooting than i figured it would. Just getting to the known distance shoot on part 1. I would be nervous as hell having to hit 28 out of 35 targets stationary and moving from 300-1000yds to qualify.

I didn't realize it was that old. So far it really stresses the psychological aspects of shooting. I think about how uneasy/nervous i get sometimes when behind a rifle on a bench and then compare it to what they're doing. I couldn't do it. I have a hard enough time lowering my heart rate and calming down just sitting there lol.

I would have failed the course when I face-crawled up to that rattler and they smelled poop in my pants!

Haha yeah i would've freaked out also, thats a scary situation. I've thought about it many times, i mean think about being in their position, and having to freeze on a Ant mound or something, that would be hell on earth.

I really like the part where that guy makes his las hit on the 1000yd shot to pass, that was awesome. Shot fires 2 1/2 seconds later you here the wonderful "Ting"

Great show liked the shooting part of it but with all of those shows its all explained in vague terms . which I guess is a good thing for opsec. wow did I just use opsec in a sentence?
I guess im watching too much the unit.

On those E-type silhouette targets...What are their dimensions?

My buddy and I are debating this. I'm saying it's 20"x35" and he's saying 25"x40". Anyone with a guess?

Surprised some had cans and others did not, for the number of rounds shot that week being supressed would be an advantage. Agree it is a good series, enjoy watching it.

I'm getting a can as soon as i get of age (1 year left). Seeing the can paired with a heavy barrel like that made the .308's recoil almost non existent, which will have me wanting to go ahead and switch barrels on my 5R like i've been planning. The swamp would be pretty bad, i have a strong sense of smell and nasty smelling things get to me. I know this sounds ninja mall like but it really makes me want to get a gillie suit and see how well i can blend in. There was that one seen, that showed the head cam view of the sniper, and i didn't realize that they were there, till the sniper stuck his arm out and patted his partner on the shoulder.

Watched all the videos. Got pissed when the first one ended in the middle of everything...until I clicked the second video which picked up right where the first left off... Great little series here.
