Anyone shooting the SW Ammo 175's from the AW 24"

Curious to know if it shoots light out like the BH does...?

BH per the case is starting to hurt the wallet a bit.

SW seems more in line at the $1 a round price point.

Re: SW ammo (308) and the AW???

My AW (26") doesn't shoot it as well as FGMM 168 or Hornady TAP 168, but it didn't shoot Black Hills that well either.

Probably about the only way to find out is to shoot it though. I have heard of others getting great results with it.

FWIW- in my AW at least, it held a tighter angle at longer ranges than at 100.

I have shot it extensively at steel at 1000 yards, and it serves that purpose well. Last session I was 10 for 10 after getting on steel, 18" at 1000 yards.

Re: SW ammo (308) and the AW???

We can load 168SMK. We have in the past. Each rifle likes diffrent types of ammo. Try a box of both to see what your rifle likes. Our 175SMK's are distance rounds, that was the design intensions. We do not advertise the 168's as much and we should but we do load them.

Thanks,
Zack

Zack,

Thanks for chiming in. I'm a seasoned reloader and competed in 1K BR for a bit. Due to time constraints (kids and work) I don't have the time to reload. Therefor I'm looking to bulk up on factory stuff.

The BH's 175s in this AW I have shoots fantastically and I can regularly cover 5 with a nickle at 100m. As in all things money plays a part.

bm11,

Thanks for chiming in. 10 for 10 on 18" steel at 1K is nothing to sneeze at. That's doing pretty well for factory loaded!

I'm not a huge fan of the 168's due to BC.

The 155 scenars have impressed me in the past but the Lapua Factory loaded 155's don't shoot nearly as well as the BH's 175's

I suppose that I do need to order a box of each and just see what happens... I was hopeing that after Frank's review some AW shooter would have jumped on board and tried your ammo.
