Anyone heard of these guys? They started July 2018. Seems like they got a lot of good features at a reasonable price point

Reticles look nice but their choice of targets is in poor taste

They are planning to be adding mrad version as they go along.

I was in Houston for work last week, so I met with their product/marketing guy Mike for a couple of hours.

He says the right things, so I will test their new Kentucky Long scope when it gets here and see how it stacks up.

They are basically a house brand for one of the fairly prominent Chinese OEM companies, so in principle, with some direction from the people in the US, they can probably do pretty good things. Time will tell, of course.

Thanks for the article on the diamond back tactical ffp I was looking at buying one and I think you helped me make up my mind to pull the triiger

I have a friend with a reflex red dot on his pistol. He really likes it, compared to his old reflex which was an older burris. I've considered grabbing one, but torn between the vortex venom and swamp fox. His seems quality. Never seen anything else from them yet.

    You are very welcome.

There is a certain spec similarity between SwampFox Patriot and Vortex Diamondback Tactical. I would not be surprised if these are related designs.

They offer Mil/LE discounts via 'ExpertVoice' - I just ordered the 1-4x and Mount for a 16" 1:9 Bushmaster 25th Anniversary Carbine circa 2003. Will be shooting Fusion MSR.

The KY Long 3-18 looks prime for NRL22 base class. 110 MOA.

One benefit, the Swamp Fox has the same footprint as the RMR... The Venom is a proprietary footprint.

    they 30% discount...most other optics are 40%

You're just talking about the LE/Mil discount, and haven't actually tried the scope?

No discounts for me. I am interested in good bang for my $$$ though.

I get that but Again they are on the level of the Vortex Crossfire Scopes but with a tad better turrets

for the price I dont think they are that bad just it leaves alot on the table and for 300-400 bucks there are other scopes that i would say are better like the base viper line or athlon talos and others

Off topic slightly: I have a "swamp fox" magazine I bought for cheap back during the obama years. It is *just* OK. I was under the impression the magazine was of Korean origin, however it still works, and is in the rotation for my training mags.

    Which model did you try?

It is an ex primary arms guy now working for them so you will see some similarities between the 2 companies. Big thread going over on ar15 in the optics section.

SwampFox Patriot is definitely a step up over Crossfire. Very comparable to Diamondback Tactical.

Kentucky Long is new, so I do not know how they stack up.

Tomahawk scopes look to be broadly similar to Strike Eagle, but they are being replaced with newer Arrowhead scopes in the 1-6x, 1-8x and 1-10x guises that look to be a step up. I briefly saw the 1-10x prototype.

Shit I’m getting old - being 70 sucks - this is a bit cynical even for me...but I can’t find anything really untruthful about it so I’ll just hit go:

Good news - I found an alternative scope:

    Chinese Scope Yallz!

I have decided to take this $120 scope, and order 50 of them for resale here in the USA for $499 each.

Also, I negotiated with the seller to have them made for $90 each - they are going to come with a bucket of industrial waste at that price you need to bury in your yard or donate to your kids school.

Also, you have to agree to ridicule an American factory worker who is now unemployed...preferably until they commit suicide. 3 Chinese people died for every one of these manufactured (2 of them children) and they said they would start to fall behind if we didn’t all help a little.

If your scope breaks, we will immediately send you a new one and pretend we have awesome customer service instead of just having dropped our profit margin from 600% to 500%.

The marketing pitch will be something like “American Patriotic Warrior Heritage Freedom Will Finally Be Yours Courtesy of Zhen Zhang Children’s Toys Ltd”

    Thanks everyone,

    Fuck America Optical.

    I am confused.

Are you advocating for only purchasing scopes made in the US?

I’m advocating for not purchasing scopes made in a country that has multiple long running projects to destroy our country.

Projects that employ half of their people.

OK. That's a reasonable point of view. I am not convinced I am onboard with that as far as riflescopes are concerned, but the point can definitely be argued both ways.

I can...sort..of...see the viewpoint that buying weapons and accessories from the Chinese defeats some of their purpose.

Sort of like intentionally buying the most toxic-waste producing products and chemicals imaginable from Chinese factories, and then just dumping them in the ocean right off the coast of China.

Just like our society, Chinese society is not monolithic.

China is not going to destroy America. Americans voting for socialists is going to destroy America. My formative years were the collapse of Soviet Union, so I have a reasonable experience with what leftism can do to a country.

There are Americans who love America and there are Americans who hate America and given that Obama was elected for two terms, there are clearly a lot of them.

There are Chinese who support their crazy totalitarian government and there are Chinese who want to be left alone to live their lives, run their businesses and do their thing. I have worked with plenty of Chinese businessmen who could not get away from their communist overlords fast enough. Having grown up in Soviet Union, I have a lot of sympathy for that.

Now, how to differentiate between all of them and who to support and who to not support is kinda tricky, so I do not spend a lot of time overanalyzing it. This is low tech stuff that has no implications for national security anyway.

However, if you are hell bent on not supporting people intent on destroying America and making progress in doing it, start with companies who donated to Hillary's campaign.

As far as SwampFox is concerned, I know they are expanding their company in the US, hiring people and setting up to do more in the US starting with QC. Where it will go from there, I do not know.
