I now have a SWFA 5-20HD in hand and have to say its a very impressive piece of hardware. How do the other scopes in the HD lineup compare to the 5-20? Is the same glass shared by all HD scopes or are there varying levels of glass quality? Has anyone looked though a few of the scopes or done a comparison?

The 3-9 has been calling to me for my AR.

Cheers,

Re: SWFA's HD lineup

Just looked in my SWFA catalog. It plainly shows the SS3-9 doesn't have the HD glass. The models that do have HD glass have HD in their respective item #.

That said, I have a SS 3-9 Mil-Quad on my AR and love it! It worked flawlessly on a recent deer hunt. I'm planning on buying another possibly for a .308 I have on order, or I may move the one I have to the .308 and put a 1-4 or EoTech on my AR.

Bottom line is that the glass in the 3-9 while not HD, is really good. I have no complaints!

Re: SWFA's HD lineup

Besides the two illuminated and another non illuminated I have a 1-4 HD I love that scope. I have a friend that looked through it and made a statement that his vision might not be as good as he thought because with the 1-4 HD scope he seemed to see the image quality better than with a naked eye hahahaha we had a good laugh about it. None of his Leupolds 1.5-5 compare to my 1-4 HD. He now wishes I would of jumped in on the kit deal that the 1-4 HD were in.

Re: SWFA's HD lineup

The 3-9 is a very nice scope for the money, but there is a noticeable step up in glass quality in both the 5-20 and 10XHD.

Between the 10XHD and 5-20 set on 10X I don't think you can tell a difference in image quality.
