Switch barrel rifle

Re: Switch barrel rifle

You don't have to have a torque wrench if the bottom of both barrels and the action is indexed marked.

Put the barreled action in the barrel vise.(I use the Tubb vise) lock it down tight with a tolietpaper card piece wrapped around the barrel where contact with the vise takes place. Use action wrence to take the barrel on and off. Tighten till index marks on barrel and action line up....,you will be good to go

That's how my APA is set up

Works great!!!!

Re: Switch barrel rifle

I switch barrels all the time and started with a torque wrench and now just do it by feel with a breaker bar. The main thing is to get it tight enough not to loosen. I'd guestimate I put about 75ft-lbs of torque: tighten it snug and then give it an extra snap to snug it up.
