What type of trigger would you want or need for a 16" carbine intended for close range work? Self defense and general training drills? Would a 2 stage like a rock river be a good choice? or would a standard slicked up trigger be better? My brain is spinning again!! LOL!! Man i have it badddddd!!!!! Lee

i wouldnt go with some of those super crisp and light triggers like a jewel or the likes, since you have said its a cqb/defensive weapon. I would opt for something like a standard run of the mil AR trigger

Factory. The trigger on my M4 is about 5 lbs of nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done. I have shot expert several times with a gritty nasty 7-8lb trigger. When you are jamming the muzzle in their guts it doesn't matter.

If you REALLY had to have a HSLD trigger then a Geissele Combat trigger would be the way to go.

In doorkicker mode a two stage becomes a single stage because you end up with a controlled "slap" not a slow "pull" like when you are placing a precise shot.

If you have to qualify with your weapon, a nice two stage may help your scores.

use a mil spec tigger. u dont want to worry about a fancy two stage breakin when u need it to work the most.

I would go with a factory or just change the springs to a lighter one. I changed the springs to a 3.5lb triggger pull and I am going to change it back. Only go for a light or fancy trigger on a competition rifle, or a very accurate long range AR.

Factory would be my first choice though.

Geissele. Not only is it the best trigger for an AR but it is probably the most reliable as well. It isn't plagued with some of the issues the cheaper 2 stage triggers are known to have.

Amen brother! Screw those crap factory triggers. The first thing I do to an AR is throw them original triggers away and put a good one in. The Geissele is the way to go. It has no disadvantages and feels great.

After I got my first one and used it for a while and then tried using a factory trigger again, I just couldn't do it. I'm with you on that, mod #1 is out with the factory crap and in with a DMR.

Factory trigger, run a carbine course, then ask yourself if you would spend money on upgrading the trigger.

Personally, I run a RRA factory single stage.
