So my friend and I took on the task of DIY bolt knob install on 4 of our rem 700 rifles. 3 turned out decently the fourth got toured apart while threading. I came across a guy named Matt Peterson in mn who does great work on bolt handles and can take any fubared bolt handle and make it look like it came from the factory as is. The pics speak for themselves. He does great work very competitive fair pricing and very good turn around got my bolt back in just under a week. I don't believe he has a website yet but his work is on other forums. His email if your interested is:

Email him and he's pretty quick to reply.
Here are the pics.
These are two we did not bad but not great

This Is the epic fail

These are Matt's work next to ours speaks for itself

Again plus 1 for Matt he def does great work.
A side note I looked for ever for someone to fix an old marlin bolt that broke off and couldn't find anyone to take it On. I had one gentleman from the hide but he needed the entire rifle and I didn't want to pay xfer fees and special shipping reqs so I declined. Matt told me to send just the bolt and knob to him and he'll tig it for me. When it comes back ill updat thread. Pretty excited to have it fixed the rifle has been in family for decades.
Great work Matt and thanks again!!!
