Does anyone make a tactical stock for a Remington 700 (short action) with sporter-weight barrel?

Wouldn't mind having a light version of a tactical rifle, with the appearance of such. Seems that the tactical stocks that I've seen are designed for heavy barrels, and wouldn't be a good match with a "standard" factory sporter barrel.

Are there any options currently available that might lean towards being more tactical and less sporter in design / appearance?

Thanks

McMillan will make any barrel chanel you want....check their website in the Specials section....lots of ready to ship stocks that were over runs or customers changed their mind.

Other than the gap in the barrel channel the thinner barrel won't hurt anything. I have ran sporters in varmint stocks untill I rebarreled and it is no biggie.

Assuming you are talking about buying an expensive stock, then the McM A3 would be a good choice as it has one of the narrower forearms. As mentioned, you just tell them what contour barrel and action you have.

Other choice is to buy "whatever." They will have a barrel channel bigger that a sporter, but won't harm a thing.

Bell & Carlson Medalist stocks are good values if you are looking for less expensive.
