I have in hand, the new TappLock Smart Fingerprint lock and I have to say I am impressed.

I simply charged the unit with the supplied USB cord and downloaded the App to my Phone.

It gives you several options to open it, Bluetooth, Fingerprint, etc,

It's fast, it's not picky, I have a harder time with my Samsung Tablet recognizing my fingerprint. You can pass it off to let others open it, it maintains a history.

The future is definitely quick and easy and this checks those two boxes.

It's new, it needs to be left out in the 0 degree weather and see, but initially, I like what I see. Setup was super easy, the Apps walks you through and really the directions just need to say, "download the app, we'll guide you from there" because it was that simple.

    Tapplock

I will add more as I am heading outside with it now.

The website says its only functional from 14F-140F unfortunately. Seems like a nice product but its certainly in a niche. App support kinda seems like a hassle to me, I'd rather just use a $10 combination lock and keep it simple. But then again, I'm not in frequently in situations where I ever need to unlock a padlock in <1 second using just one finger.

How does it hold up to TSA scrutiny?

I am quite positive, if it is something that you would carried frequently traveling, that you like, is convenient and makes common sense for your personal security of property .
Then the answer would be NO . the TSA with wisdom for national security will not allow you to use it, they will pull you aside and make example of you . making you miss your flight and then loose one of your shoes, making you limp, wearing one shoe to your final destination .

For use on a carry-on or checked bag? I'm sure they wont' like it.

For use on a firearms case? I was advised last month that I can use a non-TSA padlock on my rifle case once it's been presented for security screening. They actually encouraged me to replace the TSA locks on it with regular padlocks ASAP.
