Oklahoma doesn't have mask mandates state-wide either. Guess what, a lot of people are still wearing masks. The Oklahoma city council voted 7-2 to extend mask mandates and a good portion of businesses won't allow entry without one. So just because a state doesn't have a mandate means very little. Unless the Governor is going to come up and tell the mayors/city council to stick it, masks are still around.
In the unincorporated Hill Country town near where I've been wintering, there's been no mask requirement anywhere except at the post office and the county health clinic. Some of the elderly residents wear a mask when they're out, along with the sheriff's deputy who stops in on occasion. So Gov. Abbott's decision won't really change things around here. Remote small town life has its advantages.
I do a lot of shopping in SE PA, in Amish country. Go into their stores and they're not wearing masks. See them out and about and they're not wearing masks. They believe in herd immunity.
