I'm embarrased that this Asshole comes from Texas. Any cop or former cop worth his salt knows that is BS. I worked in a suburb of Dallas for almost 10 years. I ran across plenty of bad guys with all kinds of weapons, normally crappy ones. SKS rifles were probably the best of the "assault weapons" that normally turned up with an occasional AK. It confirmed for me that the good guys ie. citizens needed Assault rifles more than ever. I didn't know very many officers who felt like they were somehow better than the "average" citizen. It's officers like that who we should be concerned with. That is a very dangerous mentality for a police officer to have.

Scary thing is, he is on the list from the nominating committee for this election cycle. I need to give those folks a ring....
