I want to thank @Greg Langelius * for being the original Sniper's Hide member since the very beginning, hell before this was even a site.

I met Greg online at Shooters.com and when that site kept crashing I built one for us to use. It was silly and poorly done, but we liked it.

Greg followed me here and has never left. We had a lot of ups and downs over the years, history, health, life, and family all come into play. Still Greg was here doing his part. One Tough Marine.

The Ghost Dancer project was all Greg, in 2001 Greg predicted the rise of the 6.5 and wanted to do a Savage 260 project. That same project lead to the development of the McM A5 stock. That stock was designed on this site, greg was an early tester.

We did several shoots with the Ghost Dancer. As well as others back then.

I don't talk to Greg as much anymore, my life went into overdrive, he moved to Phoenix from NYS.

I want everyone to know, despite my failings, I appreciate Greg on here every time I see him post.

He can use a Prayer or Two right now,

    Semper Fi Greg,

Prayers sent for Greg and his family. 🙏 :)

Smoke fire started and positive vibes headed his way. The guy that has more shooting knowledge in his pinky toe than I probably ever will.

Prayers sent. Had the opportunity to meet him and Celia once and was not disappointed. Very humble and nice gentleman. That man has forgotten more than I will likely ever learn about shooting, ballistics, reloading, etc.

    For you, brother Greg.

    THE PROPHET

Almustafa, the chosen and the beloved, who was a dawn unto his own day, had waited twelve years in the city of Orphalese for his ship that was to return and bear him back to the isle of his birth.

And in the twelfth year, on the seventh day of Ielool, the month of reaping, he climbed the hill without the city walls and looked seaward; and he beheld his ship coming with the mist.

Then the gates of his heart were flung open, and his joy flew far over the sea. And he closed his eyes and prayed in the silences of his soul.

But as he descended the hill, a sadness came upon him, and he thought in his heart:

How shall I go in peace and without sorrow? Nay, not without a wound in the spirit shall I leave this city. Long were the days of pain I have spent within its walls, and long were the nights of aloneness; and who can depart from his pain and his aloneness without regret?

Too many fragments of the spirit have I scattered in these streets, and too many are the children of my longing that walk naked among these hills, and I cannot withdraw from them without a burden and an ache.

It is not a garment I cast off this day, but a skin that I tear with my own hands.

Nor is it a thought I leave behind me, but a heart made sweet with hunger and with thirst.

    Yet I cannot tarry longer.

The sea that calls all things unto her calls me, and I must embark.

For to stay, though the hours burn in the night, is to freeze and crystallize and be bound in a mould.

Fain would I take with me all that is here. But how shall I?

A voice cannot carry the tongue and the lips that gave it wings. Alone must it seek the ether.

And alone and without his nest shall the eagle fly across the sun.

I am a relative newbie here, only a few years. But I give thanks to God for good things in my life. And equally, give thanks to God for good people in the world. Just to know he was in the Marines and served this country is good for me.

I am totally unfair and unreasonable when it comes to vets. I give them a lot of room and patience. I was medically disqualified from service but many friends and family served in all kinds of roles in war and peacetime.

    Always faithful, indeed.

God bless Greg and also those who have made and kept this forum going.

Yep, I’ve been here awhile myself and Greg’s always had a good word to say, or useful info to pass along. A Founding Member of the Hide without a doubt. Prayers for him and his family!
