The assination of Japanese Admiral Yamamoto

Didn't need permission to kill an enemy commander back in the day when Congress had the balls to make a formal declaration of war. They have failed miserably in their obligation to keep American citizens safe by taking the fight, the FULL fight, to our enemies ever since WWII by letting our military do what needs to be done to win.

Fuck that revisionist history written by a pussy. We used to know how to win wars and civilians had the stomach for it.

Yamamoto was a legitimate military target. It's impossible to be assassinated when you are an enemy combatant, in uniform, and not under surrender or capture during a time of war. It's like dividing by zero.

The stupid fuck who wrote that worthless article needs both an ass kicking and lesson in the laws of war.

It's one of the greatest stories of WW2!!!

And today, people whine that it was an assassination.... which is B.S. They had the intel. They shot Japan's best Admiral out of the sky with all the sportsmanship of clubbing a baby seal. Wah.

It shortened the war. It saved Marines, GI's, airmen and sailors.

Assassination... what a load of crap. It was a good shoot-down based on intelligence. And if, today, we can line up a military commander in Syria or Iraq or Afghanistan or Nigeria or Yemen... we should not need some retard lawyer asking questions.

If Pearl Harbor happened tomorrow, I am sure we would have a national hand-holding session, a drum circle and ask the Japanese for forgiveness that we built ships that were so hard to sink.

Michael Peck should stop trying to be an historian and write for the Huffpost....

Another great story.... when "Bull" Halsey was steaming into the remnants of Pearl Harbor after the attack (the carriers had been out at sea), he said the famous words: " Before we're through with them, the Japanese language will be spoken only in hell. ..."

Today, he'ed probably be court-martialed for such xenophobic utterances and for implying that there is a Hell, which is a religious preference... And discriminates against deaf people, because he forgot to mention that Japanese would only be 'signed' in Hell. In Esperanto.

Thanks, Maggot.... I needed an excuse to vent today! ;-)

Cheers,

Sirhr

The guy was killed by punctuality and the the navigational abilities of Thomas Lamphier and his buds. Met some guys at the Smithsonian's Paul Garber restoration facility that flew with hm. Not on that mission though.

I haven't read the article, but right off the bat I saw the word "assination" in the title, which I presume to mean assassination, and knew it was going to be BS.

AssNation? That's like PornHub, right?

Assassination. Yep, that's what it's come down to. We assassinate our enemies. That's just rich............

Oh, and it was a great feat without a doubt. Splashed the Architect of Pearl Harbor because we can. Splendid.

I wonder if his next article will discuss the "mercy killing" of Marines at Tarawa.

Instead of being a concern over past US policy and its lawfulness, it would be better to investigate present policy and the interference of bureaucracy that has crippled our ability to be effective at any of govts functions save screwing with the People.
