I am probably going to buy a M700 .300 WINMAG, and wanted to know what factory ammunition has worked the best for you guys. Specifically, I want to get the M700 Tactical Long Range and do a good bit of hunting with it. I am looking at shots out to about 700-750 meters. Thanks a lot.

Federal Gold Medal Match 190 grain Sierra Matchking.

Reckon I should add that Sierra does not recommend the Sierra Matchking for hunting applications.

Re: The Best Factory 300 WINMAG?

For hunting I would recommend the 180 gr Federal Fusion. Bonded, inexpensive and Fusions have been very accurate in every rifle I've shot them from. Ive used them out to 600 yds.

For paper and steel under 1000 yds, I'd agree with the FGMM.

After that, I'd recommend getting a press and rolling your own. Even inside 1000 yds. the wind benefits of the 210 Berger/JLK's and the 208 Amax is something to see. But outside 1000 yds. nothing else really even comes close.

Southwest Ammunition.
$34 a box, and $30 a box for a case of 200 rounds or more. The 220smk is my favortie for my Rem700 26" barrel 1:10 rate.

Mike,

What powder are you guys using?

And you like the 220 better than the 208's or 210's? Why, if I might ask?

Re: The Best Factory 300 WINMAG?

We load the 220s because they are much less sensetive to seating depth than the 208/210.

We use H-1000

Thanks,

Mike

That's exactly what I expected you to say. You and the military think a lot alike.

Thanks for the confirmation, Mike.
