Re: The Family

Long story short- the windrunner belongs to my wife (just got it Friday). One of my old shooting buddies had some components he was selling that I wanted to buy for her...but he didn't want to split up the components from the Tac50...so I got it with the intention of selling it, keeping the components...and now I don't know if I want to. Now that the crying is over, I know that I will not likely have another opportunity to own one. If I had glass for it, I would be shooting it...and then I KNOW I would never sell it. Make sense? I know, it doesn't to me either...

Re: The Family

Those are two of my favorite big bore rifles. I have a .408 Windrunner but have wanted a TAC50 for years. Sadly, in CA I can't get one

Re: The Family

Well, my Creedmoor/AR is the one I shoot. I'm not going to mount a scope on the Tac50 unless I'm absolutely convinced I'm going to keep it and shoot it (and it doesn't look good for me right now, to be honest). As for the WR - it was just received, and I don't think my wife has decided what she wants - and even then we'll need to save for it - that's the killer irony of the whole deal.

I really did think about it, and in one of my discussions with Scott at Liberty Optics I asked what he thought of the IOR SH Edition scope on a .50, as in durability. He mentioned he wasn't real "warm and fuzzy" about it, and mentioned the potential for specks (of what I believe is the internal finish of the tube)to appear on the reticle from extra-hard recoil, and not that it WOULD happen, but that it has before.
Well, I figured- why chance it?

I was kinda peeved at first when I read your comment- but ya know what? You don't know me or that I might be coming up on a potential "jam", or that I put tons of thought into my AR rig - and I guess it DOES look funny! In reality, I'm thinkin' it's just some of the sweetest gun porn I'll ever be able to take a pic of, and the irony is lost until a total stranger points to the obvious!

(yeah, it is pretty funny, and thanks for that)
