Hi fellas, I will be doing the Fan Dance ( The Fan Dance Race Series ) in summer 2014; it is something that I regret not attempting when I was (a lot) younger, and still serving.
As a full time long distance truck driver, making time for training is a bit of an issue; I generally work around 15 hours per day, and although I would like to do an hour training every day, driving a 26 ton truck while being tired is a non starter.
I currently manage around 2 1/2 days a week at home, and when home, I run (TAB) with the dog twice a day, sometimes 3 miles, sometimes 6 miles, and occasionally 12 miles. Between us we can do 6 miles in a bit less than an hour.
I make a point of eating plenty of fruit, and keeping off the fried foods as much as possible, and currently at 45 years of age, I am 5' 10" and weigh approx 160lb.
I would be grateful if anyone could offer some tips or advice on training methods that I could use, that will not reduce my work breaks too much (legal and safety considerations here in the UK) - so any long haul truckers on here might be my best source of help, but anyone else, please feel free to advise.
Thanks, Nige.
