Yup just found a box of 230g fmj .45 ammo brass cases... $7.99. The one sitting on top of it says $23.99
I remember when I use to buy primers for about $10 per thousand, not its close to $40,
The thing is I can afford the $40 primers now better then I could afford them when they were $10. I bought a new Model 70 in '74 for $235, I bought one a few years ago was just north of $800. It took me a lot longer to come up with the $235.
It all evens out.
Use to be what with working a full time job, going to college, raising a family, and running a NG unit, I had a hell of a time squeezing time in to shoot. My kids are grown and all of them are doing well, they certainly are doing better then I did at that age. I have good pensions, everything is mostly paid off, Wife will be well taken care of when I go under . I have a back yard range, I'm retired, my biggest problem is "what am I gonna shoot today"?
I'm thinking the good old days are now.

Supply will catch up, but inflation won't just go away. Pay attention to the world around you and you'll see why the $80 box of ammo is now $300. You vote, pay taxes, and watch TV...our societal actions have consequences.
I have 2 old metal bullseye cans with a price tag on them of $3.50 per can. old leftovers from my PPC days.
I also have 2 "spam cans" of 7.62 x 39mm steel core stuff I bought for my SKS about 22 years ago. 780 rounds per can i think. they were like $45.00 each. It is corrosive primed but I blasted 2 of the 4 cans with no issues. Just clean her up before putting her to bed. Old SKS still shoots amazing. Hand picked this one out of a crate at a show for $75.00 the same time I bought all the ammo. It was the only one in the case that had a milled receiver and threaded in barrel. It took about 2 hours to tear it down and get all the Cosmoline out of it. Funny but it still smells like Cosmoline after warming it up with a magazine full.
I see these things at gun shows now not nearly as well made bringing $400.00. Yep..... The GOOD old days!
