Dead Patient Infects Medical Examiner With COVID-19

''It should now make sense why China was so adamant in cremating bodies as the fast-spreading virus terrorized Wuhan earlier this year. That is because, a new report published on April 11 says a medical examiner recently passed away after contracting COVID-19 from a corpse.

The incident took place in Bangkok, Thailand, at an unknown date, when a medical worker was infected with the virus after conducting tests on a COVID-19 corpse, the study said, which was recently published in the Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine.

I'm torn on the effectivity of border controls in this particular situation. *If* we had sufficient notice, it would have totally helped reduce the spread, and I think that restricting travel from China when we did had at least some moderate benefit. But China was slow to catch on to the situation, and then they deliberately spread inaccurate information for a period of weeks (note that this is the most generous take on the scenario; there are many uglier ones). So we had about a half-million people that traveled between China and the US between the time that the virus supposedly took hold in the Wuhan area and the time that we restricted (not banned) travel from the mainland.

Furthermore, we didn't restrict travel between the US and Europe for a few more weeks, and there was some untold amount of traffic between Europe and China that allowed the virus to spread via this path. It's my understanding that this was the primary vector of transmission into New York.

Honestly, I think the way to deal with this in the future is to severely limit travel from China to North American and Europe until such a time that they can get their act together.

Much more likely explanation IMO:
  • Wuhan bio lab close to market studies zoonotic viral diseases that jump from bats to humans. (There are archived job postings and papers from the lab that mention this).
  • Worker in lab fucks up but does not know it due due long incubation time.
  • Infected worker goes to market for lunch or to get food on the way home and infects people there.
  • Disease spreads faster in the densely packed, high-traffic market than in the personal circle(s) of infected worker(s).
  • CCP makes infected worker(s) disappear (some individuals who were posted on the labs website are now gone physically and on-line) and spins the wet market story.
While I consider the CCP as an evil empire I also give them enough intellectual credit for not messing around with a viral bio weapon for three reasons:
  • They would need a reliable antidote which is next to impossible to secure for an RNA virus that can mutate rather quickly
  • They know what happens to them if they ever get caught with 'smoking gun' evidence
  • Their goal is world domination, not world annihilation. Everyone knows that.
What the CCP tried to hide is their incompetence.

I bought their Explanations initially too, but once they started lying about the numbers it became clear they were lying about everything.

Just to add a bit of nuance to the above statement - they didn't necessarily have to create the virus, but rather to simply have discovered it in nature and give it a helping hand. There are a range of possibilities that still come back around to point a finger at China.

There is no question, none, that they were TRYING to create this very coronavirus at the Wuhan lab. The evidence out in public is completely damming, and strains credulity that the same virus they were postulating and actively trying to create suddenly sprang fully-formed from the head of Zeus right down the street... really?

We are killing our hospitals right now as they layoff health care workers due to the current nobility to provide other services.

When we make it through this we will start losing people for lack of care for the hospitals regular clients.

St Vincent's Worcester, finding it hard to stay open due to shut down.......

This has been my scary feelings on it as well.

Could happen for multiple reasons. A big one could be because China will deeply feel this economically, and the best way to get your country out of an economic depression is to get the war machine going.

I hope we are wrong.

The hospital my wife works at is losing around ~$10million per month or something like that, they are so empty and shutting down services to "be ready" for the Coronavirus.

They arent the same. By the same token, we didnt have to shut the country down. We have hospitals laying off staff. There is something wrong with that picture. "Quarantine was too effective." Is a hell of a stretch, as to why hospitals dont have enough patients. The virus wasnt that bad to start with.

I'm not stretched to any limits, nor have I said otherwise. I've been in the cardiac ICU for two weeks. We aren't doing elective cases so it is actually pretty slow.

The virus is a nothingburger, and for you folks that dont "habla" that doesn't mean i said the virus doesn't exist. It also diesn't mean the virus doesn't kill people. It is a nothingburger, because it isnt any more dangerous to the general population, than Influenza.
