Central Wash.
One of my favorites, starring Jean Reno....great action showing what one trained man can do against greater odds.

The movie title you gave is not a Jean Reno film, Stallone stars in the Specialist. Are you thinking of the Professional?

The director is French. Leon was his domestic market edit. There's supposed to be more sexual tension between Reno and Portman in it (shades of Lotita) but I didn't see it. I prefer the English-language version.

My favorite Reno movie is still The Big Blue. It's a cheezy movie but I loved Reno's character. Plus it has a lot of a half-naked and teen-aged Rosanna Arquette in it.

The Professional II : Matilda

I think they should make a part 2 and call it Matilda. Have Portman play the grown up Matilda carrying on Leon's work.

Re: The Professional II : Matilda

How about Reno in Ronin? And how about Ronin? That was a great movie!

This, I agree with. "Leon" was far better than "the Professional", even though the latter was still and excellent movie. Would sure like to see a '15 years later, Matilda doing what she knows best' type flick.

Re: The Professional II : Matilda

The Leon character evolved from Victor in the movie Nikita.
Jean Reno is a great actor.

Re: The Professional II : Matilda

The Professional II was a working title in South Africa for 'Wasabi'. French film starring Jean Reno, takes place in Japan.

Good luck with that - Portman's a big-time lefty gun-grabber type, like all those Hollywood slimeballs.

So is Daniel Craig, IIRC. Yet he did his bond films well.

Since when has that stopped any of them from making money by glorifying gun use in a movie ?????

Also check out Le Femme Nikita (the movie)french movie that spawned the professional. Same feel, great movie lots of gun mistakes but still I loved it.

They re-made Le Femme Nikita to an American film called the Point of no return and it sucked they also made a tv series but I never saw it.

Re: The Professional II : Matilda

Awesome movie. Gary Oldman's character is awesome.

Daniel Craig is quoted as saying "I wasn't sure about taking the Bond role because of the use of guns" Obviously the money swayed his opinion.

That quote is the sole reason I will not go to the Cinema to see Daniel Craig as Bond. Don't care how good he is, he might sacrifice his principles, I won't.

You didn't miss much with the tv show. Not a patch on the original (French) film.

Sorry, but most of these European films don't translate well into American.

Best car chase in a movie? "Subway" another Luc Besson film. Fantastic juxtaposition between a car chase and an old boy running. I won't spoil it by telling you how the car chase ends.
PLUS, Subway has the incomparable Isabella Adjani in it.
Male lead is Christopher Lambert, the Highlander to you lot!

I would be surprised if that were true. I thought she was a Libertarian which are usually very pro-gun. I have looked and have not been able to find any reference confirming Portman as being anti-gun.

Yeah, you get an F- for research ability.

She's a Jewish* celebrity who's done masturbation and a lesbian love scene on screen, a self-confessed DemocRAT who's campaigned for John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and Barry Obama for POTUS. She's a vegan by choice but a vegetarian when forced to be and sells her own line of vegan shoes. No, I don't have a clue what a "vegan shoe" is, I've never had shoes that ate.

If that sounds like a Libertarian to you, you need your hearing checked.

*Nothing against Jews, they're lovely people, but demographically, nearly all Jewish celebrities are monolithically liberal Democrats.
