The war in Ukraine and Donbas

The International Atomic Energy Agency is once again sounding the alarm over the potential that disaster could strike the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in southeastern Ukraine, which is the largest in Europe.

On Sunday, for the first time since 2022, Ukraine apparently sent a drone against the facility and it struck one of the plant's six nuclear reactors. While Kiev has firmly denied it was behind the attack, Moscow has denounced it as a "very dangerous provocation" from Ukraine forces. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denounced it as "a very dangerous practice with very bad negative consequences." He said it's but the latest example of Kiev's "terrorist activity."

Did Ukraine figure out, which way the wind will blow the radioactive dust?

Seems the goal lately is to try and push Russia into doing something rash to justify pulling NATO in. That's all that they left.

Pretty much. They (namely Zelensky) is desperate and running out of people and options.

There's not much left to do, except to try and make the conflict broader to bring in more countries to directly fight Russia.

We go from fairly peaceful existence to the brink of nuclear war due to peoples feelings. Will be funny to see how those "feelings " work out if the $#it does hit the proverbial nuclear fan. Can only pray these dumbasses got fake eclipse glasses and look up today

It's because war has become an abstract concept for most people.

The people that advocate for more war are usually the people that will suffer no consequences from it. In some cases, they even benefit.

Nobody else is going to join the war. Surely nobody in Ukraine who is in a position to make policy actually thinks that is going to happen. Russia has no desire to drag any other country in, either (why would it?), so Russia won't be doing anything that would obviously cause another country to join the war.

This is just one of those things that Americans write on the internet.

Nah, nobody else is going to join. Nobody is going to supply weapons either. Or blow up Nordstream. Or send advisors. Or have politicians in multiple other countries openly call for NATO troops to be sent in. Or utilize bases in Poland. Nope, never going to happen.

Read what I said. "Try" was the key word. Nowhere did I say it was a done deal, it does seem to be their goal though. They don't have enough troops left to do much. They don't even have enough people to man the armaments they want sent over.

grain of salt...

Hard to believe anything Russia, Ukraine, UK or even the US says about this conflict. We are being gaslight on all sides.

Unless hard proof gets released, who knows what happened. And I cast the exact same skepticism to the western narrative on these terrorist attacks as well. Nothing really adds up, nobody is telling the full story here.

But......

When you read that and the first thing that comes to you is......Yea I could see that. Or, Sounds about right.

What does that tell you.

Can't wait for the Gulf of Tonkin moment to drags us all into a Nuclear war before I can get the fuck out of this place.

You can also toss in there FDR and things like the USS Greer. A united states destroyer flying the union jack attacking a german sub. Lots of that kind of crap happened as FDR worked hard to get the US into the war. He violated congress, Hague convension, and even maritime law trying to get the US full on in the shooting war, hoping the entire time the germans would do something that would push Charles Lindbergh out of the way and get the US going.

Hitler being a WWI vet, and knowing just what the US entry into the war would bring wanted no part in it, and was really upset when the german sup torped the USS Kearny. It was not enough to get congress to push the war button, so FDR needed something very big.

And just like today he just pushed and pushed the Japanese until they felt their back is against the wall. Again hitler not happy but his hand was forced at that point. Some think this is why he pushed the "wonder weapons" so hard. He knew germany could not stand against the US, and its ability to make and feed the world. Bringing the war to the US mainland would be the only chance they had.

Lets make some fake news

Funny part is the low-cost approach to faking it , in US you at least get a small crowd hired for the preformance, here its one man

I don't know if bio diesel is still this way but I can tell you years ago it sucked.

Story time:

At the state fair you have these tractors that will pull around the little cars that pick up people in the parking lots. The tractors are loaned to the fair, and you have all the colors there. Fuel was donated to them as well, and "bio diesel" was the thing of the day. The state fair really only runs on the weekends so the tractors would sit. In short order they would not start....could not figure out why.

The diesel started to grow again, and green sludge really screwed up the pumps according to both the John Deere and Mahindra guy. To date this remember when Mahindra brought in that little side by side that looked like a baby jeep, and then jeep went after them. This was before the suit happened and they still looked like a little jeep, super cool and really a good little machine for what it was IMHO.

Anyhoo, started growing in the tanks, so a new load of tractors no bio diesel in them, but they still had the bio diesel all over the fair.

I guess it would be ok if you ran through it quickly and did not let it sit, but even in a truck where you filled once a week, it would have been horrid.

I am also not a fan of booze in the gas.

Where they really made in USA? or parts made in USA and assembled in Mexico, so they can get the 'made in USA' flag.
Startups selling what is essentially beta versions to users engaged in total war...... what could go wrong? Chinese selling well developed of shelf civilian products made in hundreds of thousands of copies per year with locals providing software and hardware patches developed from the experience of this war.

Also note when you are losing a drone on average in 1.3 missions , cost matter a lot.
''In total, Ukraine's armed forces has been losing 10,000 drones a month. U.S. officials admit they don't have an answer for Russia's superior electronic warfare.''

A Friend of mine is making drones for Ukraine as well in a startup , I can give you an example on why and how things are not the greatest value for money. Drones are practically handcrafted like you would do in your garage , its not anywhere close to serial production like DIJ ,
It starts with thermal optics and gimbals, to equal 3K$ chinese , European build ones cost 12-15k$ without offering any advantage over made in China.Same goes for most other components, but next stage where fortunes are made is actually financing of the whole show.

As a startup lacks $ resources for larger batches they entered a partnership with Rheinmetall (German LM or Raytheon) to distribute these to Ukraine, and here things take a turn, their drone system is sold on the open market for about 400k$ , Rheinmetall sells 4 systems plus set of spare parts maybe worth 3mio$ for undisclosed double digit milion$ value (margins on Ukraine scam can be great),
You might ask why , simple, funding for Ukraine arms is often drawn out process and big players hoard orders and can provide finance, while smaller players that actually build stuff live paycheck to paycheck, startups are willing to take it up their ass to get combat proven label and grow their brand. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall's and Raytheon's make a killing on essentially financing these projects.

Everyone needs to read this twice, slowly. This is spot on.

There is another issue contained in this post: the tech that China steals from us is then used not only in their military but to undercut both civilian and military sales worldwide. Go to any international defense trade show and it becomes very obvious what's going on.

Trypillia thermal power plant utterly destroyed in Russian attack

For two years no power plants were attacked, after Ukraine blew up the Crimea bridge smaller substations were on the menu, substations while not quite walmart items are relatively cheap to replace. now with Ukraine attacking fuel refineries in Russia, it seems retaliation is to strike , powerplants ,unlike substations these are multi-billion multi year builds or rebuilds, this can only be borne so long before the electric grid collapses completely as grid operators are unable to sustain the grid , the first stage is rolling blackouts but next stage is a permanent blackout.

Or many more Turkish floating powerplants to keep the lights on and some free SPR to keep them fueled

With Geran drones just to salt the wounds a little extra.
This is right next to Kiev, probably the most heavily fortified city in the world in terms of AD right now, and they took out their power with big slow drones powered by lawnmower engines.
