This could turn serious. Antibiotic resistant fungus. My wolf pup, the black one in the photo to the left, got a liver fungus this fall. they put her on Itraconazale strong fucking antibiotic (the same one they give for toenail fungus...you have to take blood tests to see if its wrecking your kidneys), , and really expensive...$200 p/month and that was DEEPLY discounted. Retail $1500/month. She responded for a while then the fungus adapted so they had to add another antibiotic. She's doing really well now but at one point I had called the vet to come out with the needle.

    These fungus are bad shit.

Ya'll keep that shit over there, please. Heading into Hurricane season down here. Don't need none of that!

Glad doggo is doing OK. This is one venue where nano-tech seems like, in the right hands, it could really do a lot to fuck up the things that fuck us up in ways we can't un-fuck.

I used to go swimming at the YMCA as part of my re-hab/physio routine. I got a toenail fungal infection about that time, and I can only point to one culprit. That facility.

That was about 6 years ago, if not more. I'm still fighting to get rid of it on the one toe. I've lost the nail a few times due to things getting dropped on it, as well as I've had the nail removed by the doc a few times. It don't seem to matter WHAT we put on there for medication, and we've tried everything.... shit just won't go away.

Everyone keeps warning us away from me taking "the kidney killer" pills, but the next step is either that or I have the nail removed and the root killed. Doc says that will make it go away. He also says it's painful.

One of the MOST significant causes of this new pattern of emerging antimicrobial-resistant 'superbugs', if not the most significant, is the widespread overuse and abuse of antibiotics and antifungals.

The USA is actually very controlled and vigilant in the distribution of antimicrobial drugs. Most US doctors will not readily prescribe them unless they are absolutely sure that you got a bug that can be dealt with using such drugs. Even obtaining a script for a backup regimen of antibiotics to take on a prolonged trip required me to give my doctor an explanation.

The problem is coming from the developing countries of the world. The reason why superbug cases are all emerging from places like Southeast / South Asia, Africa, and Latin America is because the amount of antimicrobial overuse and misuse is ASTRONOMICAL. Compound the limited knowledge of many doctors with abhorrent sanitary conditions and the utterly reckless use of pharmaceutical grade antibiotics in factory farmed livestock and you got the ingredients to a perfect storm.

This issue is serious and potentially devastating enough that academic journal articles have been released on this subject:

On external surfaces (not you or your animals), Bleach is king in taking care of that.

Now on your skin, the 15% iodine will clear up just about anything on it unless it's in too deep, sort of the working man's "Chemical Peel".
You wake up one morning with ringworm from being in the hot jungle... bite down on a stick and paint it with a bit of that stuff, you'll be good for your date that evening.

Man you guys spend a lot of $ on dogs, I give you credit. Not saying anything against you tending to your animal but I would have took ol wolf fang pup out back and dirt napped him if a vet told me $200 a month. Got kids to feed

When you have expensive dogs that are more like family members to you. Medical costs are just something that's normal.
I'll spend probably $3k a year on my dogs for standard vet care and such, assuming no problems, more if there is problems.
Teeth cleaning alone is like $240 each per year. (Coming up this month / next month).

Just spent a new car on one of my dog she’s worth every dollar and rifle I had to pass up in that time frame

We had mold spots on the ceiling above a shower. I cleaned it with a stout bleach / water mix and was like miracle grow to that mold. Had to get some kind of mold killer, don't remember what it was.

Yeah, Cloud (the pup) is doing well. the second anti turned the corner for her. As to the money, its tough, she is like family, and pups (her mom gave me 16 in two leitters) go for $500 and up.

I had the toenail fungus. Doc wanted $2000 or so and all the blood tests. I said no, went home, took a pair of pliers, jerked the nail off, and put on concentrated oil of oregano. Cleared it right up. Im with W54 try iodine as well. If that dont kill it just cut the fucking toe off.

I rescued a 7 week old Blue nose pity chained to a boiler up in Spanish Harlem when I was on duty back in '04. She was a great protector companion and friend. While recuperating from my Heart surgery k noticed her gums, ears were yellow????? Turns out she was in liver failure due to cancer.... Vet bills from testing and meds just shy of $2500.00 she lived comfy for another 4 months and 1 day I said its time... I cried for weeks... Onions for Maya

Next time don't use a mix. Just spray straight bleach on it. (Either the 5% standard household bleach, or the 7% or greater).

I haven't yet had straight bleach fail to kill any of the black mold around these parts.

I wonder also how they would do against those UV disinfecting lights they used to use all over Japan in the kitchens and stuff like 30 years ago.
The only problem with them is you can't use them around kids, pets or stupid people. You look at one of those far a bit too long and you'll have a couple nights & days of agony you won't soon forget.

Soooo, don’t get it on your dick.

Soooo, don’t get it on your dick.

About that.... Seen it happen to a very good friend and room mate of mine...
In said jungle humidity levels he had woken up with a big case of ringworm, as usual right it the private parts....
And of course he had a date that night that he was looking forward to...
So cue go pull the 15% iodine from the barn and proceed to carefully paint the inner side of your upper thighs while biting on something....

    Except.....

He accidentally spilled the bottle of 15% iodine all over his "member"..... Now that is like getting circumcised all over again.......
While he didn't make his date that night, he got way more bonus sympathy points from the female types who were of course all comforting & helping & wanting to check and make sure it was okay... So later on he cleaned up nicely.. (There was a pretty ample supply of young female types around an also ample supply of young male types, and all the girls talk so when one finds out about someone's Tragic Accident... well the whole gang knows shortly).

Oh and just while we are on painful cures for things.
If you happen to one day be working way hard in rough areas and wind up with your inner thighs chaffed till they are weeping, but have to get back to it the next day... don't bother with creams they take too long.... Just find something to bite down on and liberally soak the area with large amounts of rubbing alcohol once or twice... The pain will be exquisite but the next morning you are back in action.

    Noted.

no shit there i was. Bragg, 92. inside of my groin was chewed the fuck up from monkey butt, as was everyone else’s. room mate was in the shower, and i decided to put absorbine jr. on the monkey butt covering my groin. the ensueing burning, howling, and antics that went with it were intense.

by the time he came back from the shower, it was all over. he asked what he was smelling, and i told him. i told him i put it on the monkey butt, and it was feeling way better already. so yeah, he wants to try it. i got to tell ya, i enjoyed watching his reaction way more than i enjoyed feeling mine. it was hilarious!

oh, the way his eyes glowed in pain! as soon as the pain was gone, it was good to go. we had great fun in sharing this cure with the rest of the platoon.

and as brutal as the cure was, it killed the monkey butt.

On the topic of toenail fungus.... dealing with that shit since 93. Brutal. Tried a whole bunch of stuff, only one thing worked for me. Downside is, you have to be diligant about putting it on for the first three months.
The stuff came back recently, probably never got rid of it but killed it off enough to where i didnt see it for about a year. In the process of doing it again, going to treat it every week once i have it gone again.

I am in no way affiliated with this stuff, just sharing because it worked. Toenail fungus is a motherfucker.

Well......since everyone is telling shit that no one ever tells.

I had ringworm on my balls once....oh I had it other places(damn a housecat).
I was treating it other places with Blue Star Ointment. When it showed up on my balls I thought,"Why not?" Worked wonders everywhere else. So I slathered, yes slathered it on my nuts. In about 60 seconds.......Mmmm mm! My nucking futs was on FIRE!
I hearkened back to the stories of Mudbone and the crabs. Blowing on my nuts would have likely made them actually burst into flame.
I spent about 30 minutes on the toilet, pouring cold water on my twig and berries. I walked funny for a couple days. My ringworm? Oh hell that shit was gone, nothing can live through that shit. I was pretty sure my pubes would fall out.
