Kicking Ass Somewhere
I a joining the NRA today, I resisted my whole life because I see them as being weak on the 2A. Facts are, the NRA has only donated $200 Million to political campaigns over the last decade, that sounds like a lot but in reality its only $20 million a year. Government Unions and left wing / communist backed front groups with names that sound nice in an orwellian sort of way far outpace the NRA in contributions. The domestic enemies of America want to remove your rights and abilities to stand up to despotism and your ability to protect your life, your rights, and your freedoms. Jon today and send a message today.

I am looking at this like I looked at the last Presidential election, Hilary was a criminal, an outright criminal protected by the deep state, the FBI, and MSM, I do not like NYers at all and do not like reality TV, I voted for Cruz in the primary. I did not like Trump, and still don't really, but I despise with all my heart and soul the DC deep state, the MSM, the Democrat and Republican parties, and I believe our federal government is a biggest existential threat to our Constitution and our freedom this very day, bigger than any foreign threat. I voted for Trump as a middle finger to all the groups mentioned above, and the show has been fun to watch until now, now, at this moment, our rights are threatened like they have not been threatened in recent memory, not even under Obama.

Give them the big middle finger and join today.

I am joining NAGR https://www.nationalgunrights.org/ and the NRA https://membership.nra.org/FAQ

A small sample of the organizations that seek to control your freedoms through donations. Click on the link and get a flavor ofd whats going in here, we are subsidizing most of these groups with tax exemptions to take your freedoms.

Come on,not all us NY’ers are that bad I promise . I agree with you, I think this movement against the NRA will only strengthen the 2A groups with more support from law abiding citizens. I was even reading that non gun owners with not political party affiliation we’re joining the NRA also because there sick of the MSM rhetoric and the liberals agenda. Just like the MSM had Killary as a lock in the last election. Boy were they wrong.

@ArmyJerry , good move and good post.

I cringe every time I hear Wayne LaPierre speak, sometimes for content and always for his awkward skills as an orator. Chris Cox is not much better. The general quality of their marketing department, or whatever they call it, is high school level. The NRA constantly puts out adds with red necks yelling some message that gets lost in the maze of tattoos and machismo. The NRA is at times unnecessarily combative and blows a lot of chances to make friends. I am so pro 2nd Amendment I sometimes make fellow shooters cringe. But the NRA is often embarrassing.

Yet, I am a lifetime member and every time I receive a mailer for some contest they are running I make a decent contribution. I have a standing contribution that hits my Amex every month into perpetuity.

I would love to see the NRA worked over into a more professional organization. I think they are missing the opportunity to act as an agent of positive change. To do that requires elevating their game to a level I think is not possible with the current leadership.

For the moment they are the only organization that has the infrastructure to protect the second amendment. No matter how wanting I find them, they are all there is.

I am a life time member but just signed my wife up for the same to help the NRA.

Yesterday, I donated to the NRA, Gun Owners of America, and Texas State Rifle Association. Did it while watching the Rubio "Town Meeting". It felt good to donate. I've never seen such an orchestrated, rehearsed, propaganda fest. I'm contemplating buying Pelosi, Shumer, Feinstein, et al, gift memberships in the NRA.

My wife, both children, and I are all life members.

Kermit the Frog had the nicest poster I've seen in a long time..... was drinking lipton and saying,
"IF NON-MEMBERS OF THE NRA WOULD STOP SHOOTING PEOPLE, GUN VIOLENCE WOULD DROP BY 100%."

Damn shame when a puppet frog is smarter than at least 100 million u.s. citizens. Just sayin.

Almost an argument for forced sterilization and abortion for a certain group of citizens. Not only can't you fix stupid, a truth telling frog can't educate the dumbasses either.

They are the only organization fighting the perception war on a national level in my opinion. They have some fantastic orators that I would like to see on a broader stage than that of just the NRA web site. “ You Don’t Know America” by Charlie Daniels was very well done.

Now if DT and Jeff Sessions would read and understand Kermit AND grow a set of useful balls.....
Just sayin again....

I too am re-joining. I felt pretty much the way you did and do now. I'm also joining other gun rights groups for the sole purpose of donating money to the cause.

On a side note that you touched on; It's hilarious when you hear "Cruz took $70,000 from the NRA!". I'm just like where is this a lot of money? No where. Especially from lobbyists. What do the opioid pushers give each year? And they're killing people like they can just get 10 more addicted when 1 dies. Oh wait...

Just a quick Google searched turned up this and it seems to be a left leaning org.

https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/recips.php?cycle=2012&id=D000000082

$1 million this particular cycle. That's a Senate house dinner.

My country once allied with Joe Stalin to beat the Nazis, so being loosely associated with a Bipolar communist like you as a last resort might be necessary in the hopes to avoid the next steps in the defcon escalation.

Been a life member for years. You sure you want to associate with hippies like me?

I am a Benefactor level NRA. Member and I got the tattoo to prove it. Wait that doesn't prove shit. Ok I got a card in my wallet that proves it. Stop arguing with me. Seriously I really think if you own a gun you should be an NRA member period. If just to give them the numbers to brag about.

I've been an Endowment member of the NRA for over 20 years now. They may not be perfect, but if anyone thinks we would not have lost our 2nd Amendment (for all practical purposes) without them, they are delusional.

Having said that, I HIGHLY recommend that all gun owners also join the GOA (Gun Owners of America). They are a no holds-barred, no apologies pro 2nd Amendment organization. They tread where the NRA will not. And they don't give a fuck who they offend in the process.

I have never heard of GOA and I cannot see them getting much attention or bang of the buck in the arena of lobbyist and politicians.

You been sleeping under a rock? GOA is a lot more aggressive than NRA. And I dont mean with filling your mailbox full of flyers.

Ha I'd be shocked if there are many that are more active online, at shows, and other places than I am. Must be a huge rock. I am sure that a lot more of the general public know who the NRA is...I'd gamble that 5% or less have heard of GOA.

Thanks Articlight I will join GOA to add strength to the 2nd amendment push that we all need right now.

Never have been and never will be a member of the NRA. Maybe when they actually start doing things for gun owners other than begging for money and giving crappy magazine subscriptions then I'll reconsider. Start with repealing the NFA and the '86 MG ban.

I've been life member of NRA and GOA for a few years now, but donated $100 to both tonight. I'll take your slack on this one, Maser.

Endowment member here.
Oh, and Maser the NFRTR is never going to go anywhere (If anything it'll be expanded), I've given up on that boat. Hell, even the NFAOA couldn't get traction.

...and Texas State Rifle Association....

We have Georgiacarry.org here and they do way more than the NRA at State level. Most, if not all, of our loosening of gun regs over the last several years were pushed through by georgia carry.

Reading through that donor list it still stumps me that the labor unions still support the DNC after WJC signed NAFTA into law and HRC was all lined up to sign the TPP. The RNC has the opportunity to steal the union vote and they seem to be ignoring it.
