We got EIB going on here, and we were going over fire for effect stuff...
One of the things is estimating range... You can do it with a binocular that has mil reticle...
I told my e7 that you can't just look at a target and see how far it is, you have to calculate the distance using the mils... He keeps insisting mils is same thing as meters and that's not how it is...
Then when we shoot an azimuth to the target, you should really use mils instead of degrees because it's more accurate. Now I have my LT and my SFC telling me mils is not for infantry and that we need to use degrees and the FDC will convert the degrees to mils... They don't understand the mils give a more accurate azimuth..
Can't argue with the high ranks. Just frustrating. if they have to range with a mil, they're gonna be screwed. Or if they miss the 1.5km target by few hundred meters cuz they decided to shoot in degrees instead of mils....
Ugh huh
