I can't judge Delta for what they did; you've got to understand that there is a minimum wage monkey at the counter, and even if it is a skilled person, they are without any authority whatsoever so 3 bag limit is 3 bag limit just like 2 ounces of hair gel in a 5 oz container is more than 3 oz in the TSA's eyes and can not go past security. Logic will not prevail.
What I can judge Delta for is how they reacted to this, and their reaction was swift and in the best interest of everyone involved to which I applaud.
You can't predict every situation and its how you react to those situations that show your true colors. I say Well Done Delta.
