This will only end in tears - Ivory Coast "sniper"

Kid, a word from the wise ... don't go annoying anyone carrying an AK 47 with that air gun!

The French army aborted an evacuation of diplomatic personnel from Ivory Coast's main city Abidjan Saturday after clashes with forces loyal to strongman Laurent Gbagbo, a spokesman said. French forces drew fire during the operation and French helicopters destroyed an armoured vehicle of forces loyal to Gbagbo in Abidjan's diplomatic quarter, Burkhard said. AFP PHOTO / ISSOUF SANOGO

You know when an air gun is all that stands between your family/beliefs and some enemy, you bet you ass you would be a pellet/BB shooting fool too. Beats slinging rocks (marginally).

If this guy can survive 10min with this "rifle" I would welcome him by my side through about anything with a proper rifle in his hands. People that have to grow up in places like this see more of war by their teens than most soldiers do in a lifetime. A man who has to defend his life and lively hood from legit rebels with nothing more than a pellet gun, has a perspective on life that I hope I am never quite forced to understand completely.

Bitch about our country and its "politics" all you want. I'm glad I and my future kids have the good fortune to grow up here.

I notice the UN is big on gun controls for individuals but ain't real big on protecting them with their peace keeping force.

Poor guy probably has no choice.

Suddenly, an AR15 in 5.56mm seems very comforting. </div></div>

It makes moaning about how much better life is with a 6.5 seem almost trivial, doesn't it?
