Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I am thankful for the doctors at UMC medical center in Jackson Ms. that put my kids leg back together. I am thankful for all the prayers from the members on this forum that have, I believe, helped him in his speedy recovery. Thank you guys and girls for your concern for a kid and his dad whom you've never met.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I'm really glad I've gotten somewhat of a life back since starting treatment for cancer in May 2009. I've went thru radiation and a hormone treatment, which I made them stop after around a year, and, starting around May, this year, I actually feel relatively good. So I'm thankful for that.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

Let's see this year I've survived three ambulance rides to the ER, one heart surgery, the Army let's me do an awesome job, I get paid to go to school, I fly airplanes for free and I live in Hawaii. Happy Thanksgiving!

Nothing new for this year but worth repeating...Im thankful for those who cant be with us. Those who have and are currently standing up to keep watch.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

Thankful that this year I get to spend the holidays with my family instead of with goat herders in Stan.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

My son, born early but happy, healthy and alert. My wife who is as awesome a woman I've ever met. Our move to the East ( it felt like home here from the first day).

I'm grateful for the chance to have met a couple of great people who not only inspire me but I can also call friends.

I'm grateful to whatever it was that let me open my mind again to what I had closed out and discounted, the presence of God.

Deo Gratias!

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I'm grateful for the medical professionals at the Strong Memorial Cardiac unit and the VA Healthcare system for bringing me back from cancer and MI to the point where I can enjoy my family and my favorite activities. I'm grateful to the NY State Veterans' counsellors who managed to successfully press my heart condition VA claim after 6 years of failure by others. I'm grateful to SH for tolerating my presence for roughly the past decade.

There's a lot more, but this is the stuff that comes to mind first.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I am thankful for those that serve, that allow me to enjoy a wonderful wife, healthy happy 1yr old son, a job in these tough times. God bless America, and those that have kept and still keep Her free.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I am thankful for all the brave youth of this nation who are willing to take a stand for a belief, in a time of war, they truly stand out in a generation thought lost.
I also thank my maker for the 3 healthy children he has gifted me with and the young adults the older 2 have become, They can distinguish rights from wrongs and refuse to accept the lesser.
I am most thankful for their Momma, she is raising us all!

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I'm very thankful to have my great family with none lost this year, last year was a rough one, the older generation were dropping like flies and lost 2 of my old dogs. Thankful to all those who are serving, have served or will serve this great country. Thankful that I have a good job that allows me to do some of the things I enjoy doing. Thankful for the friends I have. Thankful for all the good people on here too, you're a good group of guys in your own messed up ways!

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

For my girlfriend and daughter.

This week I have learned I don't need to be thankful for my job - the one I am sitting at right now when nobody else will be here - the one that suckered me into swingshift by lying to me in the interview. The one that may pay well but is not worth the BS.

The one I may walk away from next week....

I am thankful for the wisdom to realize that it's just money and not worth the pain in the ass this place gives me.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

Awesome thread.

Very thankful for all of my friends and family. Thankful to the woman in my life that I married in August. Thankful for my job in this horrible economy and thankful for my health.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

That my "home" is actually home this year, and that I don't have to travel to get there.

I'm thankful for the family that is still with me, and that I was able to know the ones that aren't.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

A new job that allows me significantly more time off, less hours, same pay, with a HUGE benefits package that let me and the family get "healthy". The wife is getting a knee replacement in January thanks to a great PPO plan. I am very thankful right now as the whole year was turning out very bad.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

There is nothing that I am thankful for this year. I hate everything that has come about this year, and fuck it all unto damnation. Here's to drinking until this fucked up year is over...Goodnight and Goddamn.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I'm thankful that i slid between cars going through the intersection, and dodged getting nailed by that truck.

I'm also thankful that I was wearing full race leathers.

Someone was watching out for me.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I'm thankful for my new bride of three months. I'm thankful for my new stepdaughter when I never had children of my own. I'm thankful to have both parents in fair to good health. I'm thankful for the career that I spent my life earning, and the opportunity to provide our soldiers with equipment to help protect them. I'm thankful to be part of the right country at the right time in history (except for that Obama fellar, not too enthused about him).

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

as I sit here this fine Thanksgiving morning in a house that is still quiet and peaceful I am pondering all the things for which I am abundantly blessed. The easiest to list are having a healthy family, loving friends, a house over our heads etc.. Then I have to think alot deeper and I also have to give thanks for the countless men and women who have written a check to the USA payable with up to their very lives and am humbled beyond words. Even more so as I look back I even have to thank the Lord for the calamity and misfortune that has befallen me, because those events did indeed change the direction of my actions and have put me in a position of stability (although not of the affluence that I had envisioned ). Had he not derailed my plans I also would have lost all that I own and can not even imagine what life would be looking like on this very day of thanks. To God be the glory and bless you all

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

For this year, I'm thankful everyone I know and care about are still above ground. It was better than the last. Everything else in my life is gravy.

I'm thankful for that cold and tired grunt out there on watch tonight. I hope he at least got his choice of MRE instead of picking through a case of RF's, and that he and his brothers in arms had something to smile about today. When I think things are shitty, all I have to do is remember those days and I'm thankful for a whole lot more.

Semper Fi and goodnight.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I'm thankful that my wife didn't have colon cancer after her Dr. said he was convinced she had it. I'm thankful to have my grandson for the holidays for the first time in three years. Having the family together, well almost, my one son is now living in North Dakota. His first time away from home at Christmas.
And I'm still employed for now.
Thank you all of our service men and women for making our country safe and free.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

Myself and my family are thankful and grateful for all of the men and women of our armed forces who fight and stand guard over the greatest country on earth. Without you, The United States of America would not exist. God Bless You All!

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I was ticked off I had to work yesterday, because of my lousy boss.

I am thankful for an awesome girlfriend/wife and an awesome daughter. Enjoying the day with both of them!

Not everyone needs to be thankful for a job, the stress of a job can be worse than teh stress of looking for one.

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I am most thankful for my family. My son who is now almost 14 months old, my daughter who is only 2 weeks old and their wonderful mother and my wife. I am truly blessed to have such a beautiful family. Everyone is healthy and loving life.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!

Re: This year, more than any other, I am thankful for.

I am thankfull to be alive and well after my first year of kicking ass on Prostate cancer, I am even more thankfull to all those in the armed forces who serve this country and keep it free.

Lucky fucker, ah yep. Thankful, you bet your ass!

It's not just today or the holidays I am thankful. I'm thankful everyday. When I am home on vacation and set in my local bar having drinks I give thanks. Up on the wall above the bar is a picture of Jason Dunham. Everytime I'm in there it reminds me how I am thankful for what people give, past, present and future. I didn't know Jason personally as he was quite a bit younger then me but used to work with his dad and was in the reserves with his uncle, a truely great family.

Stay safe everyone and god bless!
