Mine was part of the initial run, has the upgraded core, and I have ~500 rds through it.
-Construction is all aluminium. Nothing special to speak of. Whatever finish was applied to mine hasn't worn all that well and has begun to flake off in areas. I have a feeling it's not overly resistant to solvents like carb/brake cleaner.
-Suppression is what I expected. If you play around with the medium, and find the sweet spot, it's surprisingly quiet for the first few shots. I believe it's been metered in the 137-140 db range, with a prescribed amount of medium added. Based on side by side comparison vs other cans I have, I'd feel confident in saying with a little work, you can get that figure down somewhat. It will never be a 120 db can, but a few shots at 133ish is probably possible.
-There is no "wipe tech". It's a 50A neoprene wipe held in place by screwing the core into the end cap. A 1/4" wipe is usually good for about 10-30 shots depending on the bullet profile. Mine is also set up to use a rear wipe, although I believe TM no longer includes that option and recommends against it's use in older cans. The rear wipe was used to keep the medium in the can and did nothing for suppression. I also found that it often compromised cycling after the first shot, but not subsequent shots.
I bought mine as a niche can, and it fills the role fine. It lives in the backpack, and has accounted for a few coyotes over the years.
Additionally, suppression on a 22LR is actually not bad. I recycle my shot out 9mm wipes when running it on a 22. Various greases tend to last quite a while on a 22LR.
