I'm debating very hard if I want to install DBM in my HS stocks that came on my 700 5-R's.
Here's what I'm considering-
Stock value as is, somewhere around $300 (Has Seekins SRS rails on them)
Bottom metal, call it $210
Install for bottom metal... lets say $110 shipped
So total "invested" in the stock is about $620
My question is, does anyone think there is a market for these stocks set-up like this for around the $550-$600 price point?
I'm just trying to think ahead; if I want to replace these with a Mannors T2A w/ minichassis, would I be better to just use them as is until I'm ready, or will I be able to recoupe most of my funds if I go ahead with DBM? I figure if I sell them off as is to I can get about $300 out of them. That is where the "invested" figure is coming from- what I can get out of them now plus what I put into them.
What are your thoughts? Lets say you owned a 700 SPS and wanted to upgrade your stock and get DBM, would you pay $550-$600 for a 5-R take-off stock already set up with bottom metal (lets say seekins AICS mag bottom metal) and the seekins sling rail system?
The feed back I get here is going to go a long way to helping me decide if I:
A. Run them as is
B. Add DBM and plan to sell them later to fund Mannors stocks
C. Add DBM and stick with these stocks
(not really looking for opinions of if I should keep them over-all or not; but the responses to the above questions will help me make a determination for myself on the three options I've given myself above).
