Guys - looking for some input.

I have a Barska SWAT Tactical Scope 10-40 x 50 w/Burris Rings for sale and have gotten some really negative input - some of it is even about the scope!!! While it is not a Night Force it seems to be OK for what most of us shoot which is recreationally. Tracks well, adjustments are pretty good and I shoot Ok with it - my only gripe and reason I am selling is I don't care for the reticle but that is personal preference.

What are your experiences with this or other Barska products - I am asking to see if I need to adjust my price.

Best scopes made, you should keep it, enter the SnipersHide Cup, you'll probably win.

Honestly, most if not all the guys here run top notch equipment. Barska is not known for having that rep. I think you might sell that scope faster on ARF.com, with less harrassment.

I sense sarcasm - so you think it is not really a very good scope at all. What specifically do you not like about it - I am trying to learn here - but seem to be pissing people off - not sure why.

You're going to end up paying somebody to take it (negative price) if you based your price on the opinions of people here.

Yes sir - I tried the search function and found a lot of general stuff but very few specifics (I will keep looking) - general consensus is that BARSKA is good for "weighing down your range bag" and "as back up boat anchors" but I did not get a lot of the "why is this the case" you know specifically with facts or atleat first hand experince.

I will continue to look with the search function and thank all you guys for your time.

I hope you can understand if you are serious about the Barska.....what you said in your original post is similar to what alot vets on here would post up for a good laugh.....a joke. Barska preys on people with their pics of big tactical "looking" knobs and fancy features. If that scope was any good.......no just decent it would cost a grand with all those features. Use it as a target....seriously try the Whiefeather shot and post it on here after you get a new scope...you'll gain respect and make guys happy. Save it for a airgun or maybe just a tin can shooting 22 at most. Personally I'd do the Whitefeather shot and them use the thing as a boat anchor......but I don't think it will sink with all of that plastic.

Guys who are rec. shooters and on a low budget can get some entry level scopes that will service them well for under $200...but not a Barska or NC Star or Counter Sniper etc etc. Get a Base nothing Leupold, Redfield, Burris, Nikon etc etc. For $300 you an get a Super Sniper that will last a lifetime and in 2 years you can sell it for more than what you paid most likely and it will sell the first day and you'l have 50 buyers on here. Derek makes some good points-however you could get some use out of it with a rimfire rifle. Do NOT put it on an airgun! Airgun recoil will take it apart-or make the view very fuzzy-very quickly. +1 for the Super Sniper from SWFA-got one for my son in law-he likes it and it has held up well-three years now-on a 308. I already posted this once, I bought one for my .22 and while it worked on my .22 i would not mount it on anything else. It took me over 3 months of having it posted to sell it and I got 1/3 of the price I paid.

Trying to be of assistance:

It might be that the issue is not that alot of folks can give first hand experience on why not to buy a Barska, as they can give you first hand experience on why to buy other scopes. As posted above, other products at a similar price from more reputable manufacturers would serve you better. Nikon, Leupold, etc. have a proven track record in real world endeavors. No seasoned hunter would put a shot of a lifetime on the line through a Barska.

Ditto to what 427 said they are arguably the best scope on the market right now

NONONO. He needs to sell this and buy a counter sniper scope, then he is ready for whatever comes his way.

Trying to sell that here is like trying to sell a used Ford escort at a Ferrari dealership. You would have better luck at other sites.

I had a cheap barska scope when I started out in guns. I put it on a 10-22, it wasn't even good for that. I would rather stomp on a barska than look at it. Like johnl said above CCS. Just my experience.

Not trying to shit on your post by any means, but the phrase that comes to mind is buy once, cry once. The link you posted lists $305 for the Barska. On the same site you can get the Bushnell Elite 3200 (Bausch & Lomb) 10x40 for $220. While it may lack some of the "tactical" features, it's a solid budget friendly scope that is relatively easily salable when the time comes to upgrade.

I missed the point on the airgun.........or should i say forgot.....they have a backwards type recoil that goes against what typical good scopes are used for. I just didn't think Barska put enough thought into it one way or another. Maybe the Barska would shoot cans on a beater 22.........but don't count on any adjustments working.

2 things make me angry......Barska and outfits like them selling these horribel scopes for $300 plus.......why don't the buyers just get the Simmons or Tasco on sale for $59......they are better!! Next look at the companies that alot of us buy stuff from every month..... Brownells, Midway....on and on and on........not picking on those two they just come to mind. But how many bigtime parts sellers who also sell high end stuff are selling Counter Sniper scopes and Barska SWAT scopes. DOn't these vendors as who make a living off of serious shooters owe it to the pubic to not sell trash??

Again if a guy wants a $59 sell it to him........but why Take a Page of catalog space or web space to print all the marketing lies about the COunter Sniper and tell people its a $2000 special forces scope........."some may have ring marks and be marked Property of US Gov"

Shouldn't our vendors help get people started in the "shooting sports" like the NRA and every good Dad and Grandfather say we should versus taking someone long and deep selling them a piece of crap.
