Just what the title says. The section could deal with pics of the old girls, to getting them proper, history, restoration, accuracy issues, proper loads and even making clones. Just to bait the masses...........here is a pic of my M1C.

There is one coming up around my parts in a few months. Not sure whether I'll use my C or my D yet. I do know one thing........that M2 flash hider is coming off before the match.

I use to run sniper schools for the National Guard using the M1C/D's.

There was always a special trash barrel for those silly flash hiders.

I've toss more then a few over the berm because idiots wouldn't listen and bitched because their rifles wouldn't group.

Too bad you didn't keep some of them. The thick bracket M2's made by Springfield fetch between $200 to $300 and the thin bracket Hart's get around $175. The T37 pronged get about $150.

Re: Thoughts on a retro sniper section?

The prong flash hiders didn't screw up the accuracy as much as the bell's did. But you're right about should have hung on to them. Worse yet when we switched to the M-21s there were a lot of parts that got trashed, including scopes, pads....everything but the rifle.

Little did I know, 30 years later I'd be into CMP-GSM games and the CMP would be selling the C & Ds short of parts.

The run of the few parts they had last November made me stop and think.
