    .
so these have been out for a few years, does anyone have any trigger time on them?

i sold my .300 win mag 700lr a year or so ago and have been wanting another magnum rifle, and the magpul rifles seem pretty decent, and buds has them right now for a good price.

I see the one for 750? Thats not an egregious price but its about what I I had in my mind as the normal price but covid could have bumped the standard up a bit from what it was.
yeah thats the one i had in mind.

im thinking $750 for a 5R cerakoted remington is a pretty decent deal...certainly much more attractive than the $1k price tag ive seen

stock i can take it or leave it.....i was quite fond of the XLR evo i had on my last rig though

Thats the crux of the issue. If you like it and dont want to change anything then its perfectly fine.

However, when you want to start ditching parts for others those initial expenditures become sunken costs and harder to rationalize making it more of a personal preference.

Im at the point where Id really only consider building up from a bare action just because Ive gotten spoiled and particular. If you just want to dabble or hunt it would be great. If Im shooting a win mag Im gonna be pushing super heavy bullets to a mile though and Id want to pick every little detail I could to make it mine and give me every advantage. Picking freebore, twist, contour etc so that it get top performance and dont get beat up by it.

I have one in .308 ( I know, right) and am happy with it. Working on testing reloads and just yesterday was able to get a .5 inch group using IMR 8208 BXR behind a 168gr SMK. Have not chrono’d yet! I don’t mind the stock but wish the grip was a little more vertical behind the trigger! Mine came with 4 or 5 spacers to adjust length of pull and 3 different height cheek risers. I’m for sure a rookie and not sure if this is going to be a problem down the road but I was a little concerned with the barrel at first as it really seemed to have a lot of copper fouling in it! I know some is good but it just surprised me as it was so visible just looking at the muzzle end! It has remained the same so guess it’s normal! Time will tell I guess!

eh, i figure ill give it a go..ive had pretty good luck with Remington in the past..and i havent read anything overtly negative about them.

Had one in .260. Had everything I wanted except the stock and Trigger. I dropped it into a Mcmillan HTG and put in an adjusted Walker. Great shooter. Easy 1/2-1/4” groups. Lent it to a Bud to use for a Long Range Course at Peacemaker and he rang steel with it at 1K. With about 500 rds on the barrel, I sold it (minus the stock and Trigger) and still kicking myself.
