Just submitted Form 4 to BATFE for a YHM Mite (22LR Can).

Purchasing a Walther P22 with a 5" barrel for it to go on (in addition to my 10/22 setup).

I know the Walther barrels are all threaded, but does anyone have a strong opinion about which thread adapter to use? Does it matter?

Re: Thread Adapter

I just sold my P22 last week. I'll sell you the Tac Inno thread adapter for $20.00 shipped. PM if you want it.

Now to answer your question. Any of the major companies should be fine.

Have a blast!!

Re: Thread Adapter

Without much response here in my thread, I went with a Gemtech.

I will certainly say that the thread adapter is more complicated to install with the 5" barrel on the P22 than on the shorter model.

BTW, reassembly of the Walther P22 is a PITA.

I'm looking forward to seeing it perform tomorrow at the range.

Re: Thread Adapter

be carefull, not all p22's are threaded, the ones in the box that say california compliant are not threaded. cali says theyre assault weapons so walther had to make some without any threads on the barrel.

Re: Thread Adapter

Yeah, this one was threaded. However, installing the thread adapter underneath the ornamental "counter weight" at the muzzle is a PAIN. The weight at the end of the 5" barrel literally covers the indentions where you use the tool to tighten the adapter. Of course, all adapters are larger than the threaded barrel, so you can't just slip the weight back on after you install the adapter.

Stupid. Why thread the barrel and then design the weapon in a way that makes it next to impossible to use?

If I ever learn how to post pics, I'll take a few and show you what I'm talking about.
