If the throat is to big the barrel has to be set back, barrel removed and in essence you cut the chamber end shorter on a lathe. If its not big enough you can DIY with a proper reamer, but you can ruin the barrel if you do it wrong.

You can buy a throating reamer from Brownells for the angle of throat you want and turn it by hand...just be careful and measure as you go. Too easy to make it too long. One turn can take it farther than you would think.
