There is a lot of talk about the measuring of wind with mirage, but if a discussion is accompanied by a visual, it is usually a rather poor representation of what mirage really looks like IMO. Does anyone hear have some pictures of mirage as seen through a scope, at different wind speeds? If the speeds were verified it would be especially helpful to post the speed along with each pick. I am interested in this and maybe others would be as well.

to be able to see the mirage and judge it accurately it would most likely have to be a video. But remember tight = faster, boils = slower.

Re: Through the Scope Pictures of Mirage

Take a sheet of paper and make horizontal lines 1" wide across the paper spaced by 1" wide white lines. Paste it next to your target and mirage will show up quite nicely.

You can also paint the same thing on the bottom border of a target stand and it will be there all the time for you when shooting paper.

You can also look up mirage boards and probably come up with a few pictures through scopes.
