FYI it sounds just like a Surefire FA556-212 Have both on identical 5R 700's

suggestion.... if u EVER plan on getting a 30cal, just get the 30cal can now and use it on the 223, this way u want need to buy 2 cans...

On a bolt gun the 223p is several DB less then a 212. I would say around 5-7 or more. Noticeable to the human ear.
