This boar came to the bait site at around 0245 hrs during a lull in the weather. I was about to drop the hammer on him when it started to hail again with hail hitting him in the head, he made a quick egress from the 400 yrd bait site. After the hail stopped he came back long enough to take a 180gr Accubond for his trouble.

Yes I was using a PVS27 that night, however I have a IR lamp that is attached to a pole that lights up the bait pile. It is my experience that as good as the PVS27 is with some ( quarter to full ) moon light, it needs some form of IR illumination to aid at extended distances on pitch dark nights, which was my condition that night.
