3 Day Pistol and Carbine Westland, MI 9-11 July 2012


This course is designed to teach and develop the weapons handling skills needed in a tactical environment. It emphasizes safety, awareness and surgical marksmanship. Shooters will focus on constructive training venues throughout the course, giving them the skills, training mindset and methodology necessary to train themselves.

The following topics will be taught in the course:

Diagnostic evaluation with both weapons
Sights, zeroing, external ballistics, slings, equipment setup
Fundamentals of rifle and pistol marksmanship
Reloading & malfunction drills
Shooting positions
Multiple shots / multiple targets Drills
The Set-up and shooting on the move
Shooting from barricades & covered positions
Efficient training methodology and drills
Ammo requirements: 1200 rounds of pistol ammunition, 750 rounds of rifle ammunition.

Prerequisite (one of the following):

Successful completion of TSI Introductory Pistol or Carbine Course
Active Law Enforcement or Military
USPSA “C” Classification or higher
IDPA Sharpshooter Classification or higher
Training schedule: Show time is 0730 with instruction starting at 8am and ending at 5pm.

Individual equipment:

Pistol with 5 magazines / Carbine with 5 magazines
Belt with holster and magazine pouches
Magazine holder for the carbine/rifle.
Knee and Elbow pads (optional)
Weapon cleaning kit (with Oil for guns.)
Rain or inclement weather gear
Eye and Ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)
Water / Snacks / Lunch (We’ll take an hour lunch break around noon. Lunch can also be purchased at fast food restaurants within a 10 mile radius of the range.)
Hat / Gloves (rifles will get hot.)
Sun Screen (non-greasy or water resistant recommended)
Optical Sight for rifle (Optional, but highly recommended.)
Course includes: 24 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion.

Cost: $750 tuition fee

Most items on the gear list can be rented via the application at additional cost or purchased at the Proshop

* We recommend you wear comfortable shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty

5 Day Pistol and Carbine Instructor Course Westland, MI 9-13 July 2012


This course is designed to teach the weapons handling skills needed in a tactical environment. It emphasizes safety, awareness and surgical marksmanship with each weapon system. It gives the student the skills, training mindset and methodology necessary to train them self and others. The student will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase their skill level and effectiveness with both weapons.

The following topics will be taught in the course:

Safety
Loading and clearing
Diagnostic evaluation with both weapons
Sights, zeroing considerations and techniques, external ballistics, slings, and equipment placement
Fundamentals of rifle and pistol marksmanship
Reloading and malfunctions drills
The draw
Shooting positions
Multiple target engagements
Transitions
The set-up and shooting on the move
Firing from retention
Proper use of covered positions and barricades
Zeroing considerations and techniques for lasers
Shooting positions and techniques
Training mindset and methodology
Ammo requirements: 2000 rounds of pistol ammunition and 1750 rounds of rifle ammunition per person.

Prerequisite: Law Enforcement or Military Only

Training schedule: Show time is 7:45 am with instruction starting at 8:00 am and ending at 5 pm. Expect approximately 4 hours of night shooting on day 3 of the course.

Individual equipment:

Pistol with 5 magazines/Carbine with 5 magazines
Individually issued equipment (LBE, ballistic or protective vest with associated magazine pouches)
Knee and elbow pads (optional)
Weapon cleaning kit (with oil for guns)
Rain or inclement weather gear
Eye and ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)
Water/Snacks (1 hr lunch break)
Hat/Gloves (rifles will get hot)
Sun Screen (non-greasy or water resistant recommended)
Optical sight for rifle (optional, but highly recommended)
Flashlight
IR aiming device
Course includes: 43 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion.

2 Day Tactical Carbine 12-13 July 2012 Fayetteville, NC

This course is designed to give the student a thorough understanding of rifle marksmanship and the carbine skills required in a tactical environment.

It emphasizes surgical marksmanship and the mastering of basic skills. It gives the shooter the skills, training mindset and methodology necessary to train themselves.

The following topics will be taught in the course:

Safety

Sights, zeroing considerations and techniques, external ballistics, slings, and equipment placement
Fundamentals of rifle marksmanship
Reloading and malfunctions drills
Shooting positions
Multiple target engagements
The set-up and shooting on the move
