If you are located in the US you might as well go with a 280/280AI.
The only real difference is the freebore to accommodate heavy round nose bullets as with all old European cartridges I.e. 6.55x55, 7x57 and so forth.
Select a 8 twist barrel of your choice and you are set.

7x64 and 280 Rem are so close as to make no difference (30-06 and 270 Win too to some extent as well but...) and if for some reason the reamer is not available or brass is in short supply, why not give som options?
Supposedly the goal is to launch a projectile with certain characteristics at a certain speed and then the shape of the brass is if little difference. And if it is the opposite, a little bit more information is hardly harmful. The question has already been answered.
Woah chill out dudes. I happened into over a thousand rounds of 7x64 and plan to shoot it. When I run out of it I'll either load more w/ the brass or rebarrel into something else.

So would my best bet be to contact a gunsmith, have them rent the reamer, cut a chamber in a blank and install into my action?
