So I'm having a Tikka T3 rebarrelled to 6.5x47 Lapua. Has anyone had to have their firing pin sleeved for the small rifle primers or is it not necessary with Tikkas?
It seems a lot of people do it for Remingtons.
Perhaps I will just see how it goes first.

I turned a Tikka M595 into a 6.5x47L and did nothing to the firing pin. I also built a 6x47L on a Rem700 without bushing the firing pin. I get a very small "crater" on the primer around the pin occasionally, but it's nothing that has caused issue or concern. Both rifles have had 300-500 rounds through them.

Try it without before you spend the extra $$. You'll get an idea if your going to be ok as you work up loads.

My Tikka in 223 does not crater primers even with loads way above book values. You are probably fine.
