I have been wanting to do a rifle build lately and do a short barrel lite weight rifle. I bought a Tikka varmint used that is coming this week and look forward to putting some rounds through it and checking it out. I did have the chance to check 1 out a month or so ago at a store and was very impressed with the features and the slickness of the bolt. Have heard great things about these rifles and also about these T3 lite rifles. So instead of a full out blown build i am going to get a T3 lite and get a few aftermarket parts and drop it into a B&C stock that they make. Has anyone here dropped a T3 lite in 1 of these stocks? I would like to order a barrel for this stock from Bartlein or Brux to use down the road when needed but wondering if i went with a barrel a little bit bigger how big of a sporter barrel would be the largest you would want to do on the stock. Also, what smiths here are working on these and what type of work is being needed to the actions if any. I here the recoil lug should be replaced with a better 1 and bedded. Being the action is flat on the bottom it is a shame they could not make a dovetail slot on the bottom with a lug to match and slide it into the slot. I think that would be real nice if their is enough thickness on the bottom to due.
