I ask this in the Tikka T3 thred before with no answer. Should a Tikka T3X CTR barreled action fit in a regular T3 stock? Question is because I will like to build a long range hunter rig and I have an Adjustable Mcmillan Game Scout with a varmint barrel and a regular T3 bottom CBM inleting. I'm planning to buy a 6.5CM CTR 24" for using on it with the regular T3 mags but I'm not sure if will fit.

Yes. I have a t3x Ctr in a B&C T3 Stock the actions are the exact same inlet profile.

Now if you want to use standard T3 mags, you will need the magazine retaining clip that is on standard T3 lites. The CTR does not have them because of the larger Sako mags. The clip sits right under the trigger and is held in place by the trigger bolt. I can post pics later, but if you search for the trigger group on brownells you can see it. Just place a add on the Hide as most guys who use lites as a donor will not use the clip. You can not just buy that clip online, at least I have never found one at berreta or brownells

Almost looks like someone could fashion one out of a soda can.So the side with the hole would sit on top of the trigger and the other side would cantilever off of the trigger body pressing the magazine forward?

roggom and spife7980 thank you very much for your answers. I've seen that part in my T3. Difficult thing will be to find one because is part of the trigger system and Beretta doesn't carry them . As suggested I will place the add and see if I get lucky because the Tikka that I have on a KRG X-Ray needs it, perhaps the other chassis use them too...... maybe fabricate one from a can.....? Thanks again.

Lol, I dont think the soft aluminum can would actually work but I bet some sort of tougher tempered metal might. Maybe an old can of beans where it already has a sort of curvature bent into it yet being rigid enough to want to maintain its form. But then again you have the thickness issue with fitting the trigger so maybe not.

If you already have a CTR then you should already have a CTR mag so would the clip even be necessary? I assume that the CTR mag would still fit in the normal t3 bottom metal because if it didnt then there would be no point of requireing the spring to push them normal mags forward.

I don't have the CTR yet so for the moment I can't check if the magazine fit. Talking about the metal pice I think that one of the contacts that are used on any old electronic battery holder/charger could do the work. I think I need to make a visit to the flea market or maybe Goodwill.

If you dont use the clip, the mag will droop too low and you wont be able to strip a round off.

Ive posted my rifle a bunch of times, not to hijack, but to show that a t3x ctr can be fit into a hunting style stock with Lite mags. I can use 3 or 5 rounders with this config.

That is a good catch MarinePMI I pull the trigger and ordered T3X CTR in 6.5 CM 24" Stainless from Whitaker Guns. Lets see if I figured this out before it arrives. I have one T3X rebarreled in 6.5 CM with a Tikka nut by Josh @PVA that is extremely accurate (way better than me). Now I can compare both. Thanks you all for the answers and help!!
