Tikka t3 rebarrel

Anybody rebarrel their t3 to a heavier barrel? If so what size diameter at the breech? I notice it's about 1.125 max. The receiver is a bit narrower compared to a model 70

1.160", I believe. If I recall, Short Action Customs can face the taper off the front of the action, which allows standard 1.200" barrels to work.

Any competent gunsmith can face the action off. Typically they are 1.200" across the 3&9 oclock flats. With a 1.200" lv,m24, or m40 barrel there will be just a little barrel showing at the 10:30& 1:30 flats. If the smith just barely breaks the shoulder of the barrel u won't ever notice. The two i have were done by Brian Wick in Il, both are hammers exhibiting 1/4 moa at 1k in calm conditions. Both actions needed very little work to true up. The action threads are 1"-16tpi.

I've got a 1.13" thick brux on mine.
