I am about to jump in to precision shooting and looking for a suggestion. I'm in no rush to buy so the Sig recall does not matter. Looking for a good bolt action in 6.5 creed to begin my journey in to this new (to me) shooting type.

The tikka has a left-handed version which is good for me who is a left-handed shooter, but that is not a deal breaker on the Sig Cross.

I like the tactical style as opposed to traditional hunting style rifle. Other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for the help!

I have to agree with above and say Tikka all day.

Although depending on your uses it may not be as cut and dry. The tikka is a somewhat heavy rifle and the cross is a bit lighter which would possibly be more conducive to hunting if that is important to you. What do you plan to do with the rifle?

I plan on just long range target shooting. No hunting and if I do take it out on a hunt the weight would not be a factor.

The Cross was "designed" to give hunters some of the features that they wanted from the precision/chassis crowd. If you're just looking to get into long range target shooting then the Tikka or any number of other rifles would be better suited for you than the Cross.

Some think the cross looks cool, but it's light weight is not conducive to long range target shooting for a beginner. A heavier rifle whether a chassis or not should help manage recoil bit better.

OP, have you had an opportunity to get hands on with either rifle? I have the Tikka, and am very happy with it. I’ve not handled the Sig.

4 Tikka rifles here.
I would not even think of that Sig, and less i would think of, since that trigger recal, danger..
But even there would not been that, Tikka hands down.
Here´s my 2 x 260rem T3 Varmint SS (cerakoted) and T3X CTR fully tuned.
Also got third KRG Whiskey T3X CTR with 2 barrels and one TAC A1.
