Timney CZ 452L Trigger

Re: Timney CZ 452L Trigger

No experience with Timney, but I have two CZ 452's that I've changed out the stock trigger spring with an ACE Hardware #144 and shimmed the pivot pin. No creep and both around 16oz. I know several people that went with the Rifle Basix trigger and swear by it. The Rifle Basix is adjustable down to 9oz. The Timney only goes down to 24oz. Several options for the CZ452 all with varying price points.

FWIW, I have a 455 and I put a Timney in it. The trigger is CRISP, and very consistent. I have no experience with the factory trigger however. I ordered the Timney and the rifle at the same time and the trigger was waiting at home for installation when the rifle came in.

If money is a factor, I hear really good things about the Yo Dave kit as well.

Re: Timney CZ 452L Trigger

I'm pretty sure that this is what I put into my old CZ in .17HMR and it did make a huge difference. That said, you have to question the sense of putting a £90 trigger kit into a £350 rifle. It did solve the terrible trigger creep and there was an improvement in accuracy as a result of that, however it was still a CZ. After kidding myself it was ok for a couple of months I sold the whole thing and bought a heavy barrelled Quad.

In short, it will make a difference and depending on the cost of the components where you are it could be worth doing. Equally, if you have not already bought the rifle I'd consider adding the cost of the trigger kit to the sale price and buying an alternative.

Just my thoughts.
