I installed the Timney Trigger with Safety on my Remington
700 Sendero II. After dry firing the rifle and opening and closing the bolt, the firing pin will not reset and the safety gets stuck. The only way that I can fix this problem is by pushing the trigger forward. I took my rifle to a Gunsmith who claimed that he fixed it and added a washer
to it. I didn't question the whole washer thing... The trigger worked great on our last outing. I just bought a Manners T4A stock and upon swithing the stocks, the washer fell out on the table. I disregarded it and installed the new stock. Now the same problem is happening again. I do NOT want a cheap fix but rather have the trigger
functioning properly. Please help!

Re: Timney Trigger Problem

There are three areas on the Timney that will cause binding in a stock. First is on the opposite side of the safety, at the top of the trigger is a pin that moves in and out when the safety is moved. Second is the rounded bottom of the safety lever down by the trigger, This area can offten hit or rub on the bottom metal. Third and not so common is the poundage screw on the front of the trigger, this can somtimes come in contact with the bridge in the stock.

Check the function of the trigger with the barreled action out of the stock. If the trigger works fine out of the stock check those three areas, It will be one or more of them.

As for the "smith" that "fixed the problem" with a washer........I would not go back to him for anything!!!!!!!!
