I bought this rod today at Cabelas for use with my AR-15, Rem .270, and my trusty 30-30. I looked at getting the .27-.45 rod too but I just figured this one would work for all three just fine. Whats the point in having a rod for the AR and a sightly thicker one for the 30-30 and the .270.

my question is: Will it be ok to use this rod with the 30-30 and the .270? or do I need to go get the .27-.45 rod too? Just thinking outside the box a little,in my eyes having the thinner rod that fits all three calibers will give me more room in the barrel of the 30-30 and the .270, giving me less chance to knick the rifling.
