OK so to start this I want to first put out there that I have no ambition to do anything till after this AWB BS is done and over with.

Here is my deal, I have two custom riggs. A .308 in an AICS 2.0 custom built by Jeff Walker and a .300WM in a AICS 1.5 built by Terry Cross. Now both guns are great, but I really only take the .300WM out to the range, and to be perfectly honest its getting expensive to shoot (I don't reload, Yet).

I prefer to shoot the .308 and its set up a little bit nicer with the stock and weight.

Now I have been considering selling the .300WM and using the funds toward a PVS-22 or depending on impressions from shot TNVCs new WASP. So its either having two nice kick ass day rifles, or having one kick ass day/night rifle. I would take the S&B 5-25 off my .300WM and put it on the .308 and place the S&B 4-16 from the .308 on put it on my .30-06 hunting rifle. I guess that would mean my Nikon tactical 2.5-10x44 (with gen 2 reticle) would need a home and that may go up for sale as well to fund this project.

My .308 already has a IMUNs on it, so that part is already taken care of. But what do you guys think? Round count is low enough on the .300WM where barrel wear wont be an issue to a prominent buyer.

Active duty MIL so I live wherever Uncle Sam wants me to. I do hunt predators back home in the northeast where they have made hunting at night with a center fire rifle legal. I guess what I would get out of it is more versatility than anything. Instead of being just good with two rifles I could worry about being a master of one.

I already have PVS-14, so patrolling the property at night is not an issue, but to engage predators, target shoot, or whatever the case may be I can mount this to either an AR with an ACOG or my personal rifle and have some fun knocking coyotes or some of that new steel that I got during the last group buy of steel targets.

If you don't have any game in your area (or future) you hunt that needs the 300WM, then I'd go for it. Otherwise I would save the pennies and eat Ramen to fund the NV, but I also very rarely sell a firearm, and when I do I usually end up kicking myself a couple years down the road.

Biggest thing I can hunt in my AO is whitetail/mule deer (not legal to hunt at night), and even though I would love to do an Alaskan hunt at some point in my life it's not worth keeping the rifle laying around/collecting dust in the safe. Plus I hear most of those hunts you can opt to use one of the guides guns anyway.

My hometown AO you need to talk to farmers to get any kind of actual range time out of your gun, so I really don't need the capability of hitting targets beyond a grand. When i bought the .300WM i was stationed on Pendleton and use to have an outstanding stretch of desert to shoot at/on. Not so much anymore.

As you can see there are allot of factors that are making me think that its time to pass her on to someone that will use her.

If I wasn't a reloader and didn't have access to ranges where the 300WM would shine, it would be my choice to go first. That being said, I like big 30 cal Magnums
